Context

Hi.  I’m Nick Seipel.  I was born in raised in Appleton, Wisconsin where I lived until my move north to Green Bay for college.  I met my wife, Jessica, there and we subsequently married in May of 2005.  Here’s a bit of my journey so far…

EDUCATION

I received my B.Sc. from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay in 2004 in a independently created major of Science & Religion accompanied by a minor in both chemistry and philosophy.  My major mainly focused on the creation/evolution debate amongst other supposedly clashing viewpoints of the two spheres of thought.  Subsequently I attended Wheaton Graduate School and obtained my M.A. in Biblical Exegesis, graduating in 2007.

WORK

Between undergrad and grad school I did a year of ministry with the local catalytic chapter of Campus Crusade for Christ as an intern.  During that time I worked with campus ministry groups throughout northeast Wisconsin.

After grad school I completed a year of internship at Elmbrook Church in college ministry.  While there I worked with college students from campus’ from all over the greater Milwaukee-metro area.

Following my year at Elmbrook, I was hired on at 1st Baptist Church in Pella, Iowa as the Associate Pastor of Christian Education.  A large percentage of my position is with middle school and high school ministry, and the remainder is allotted for adult Christian education.  My wife and I have been here in Iowa now since July of ‘08.

PASSTIMES

I am currently working on a book focusing on holiness, depravity, and our obsession with distractions and delusions.  I also thoroughly enjoy playing tennis, running, hiking, chess, and the odd video game thrown in every now and again.

BELIEFS
